Plywood boxes for film/photo filming.
Apple box coasters (apple box, apple box, applebox</ strong>) are made of plywood with an oil-resistant coating. The kit includes 4 stands, which are widely used when installing lighting and other equipment on the set. Three stands completely retract into a fourth for easy storage and transportation.
- Apple boxes are wooden (or plywood) boxes of various sizes with holes at each end, used mainly in filming. These boxes are specialized equipment and should not be confused with simple boxes or crates for apples :-) (Wikipedia)
A very common piece of equipment on set, Appleboxes are used for anything that needs temporary support. They can be used to support furniture and light stands, to level a camera cart walkway, or to create temporary seating, work surfaces, or steps.
There is often a need it's about making the actor appear taller to match the composition of a particular shot, in which case appleboxes can be just indispensable. Appleboxes were originally used for storage. They usually have an open front wall, and it can be used as a container for storing small necessary things.
