Milling cutting of plastic, Kyiv

Today, plastic elements are used everywhere, in a variety of industries, because plastics have such a special combination of properties as lightness, low density, resistance to moisture, corrosion and aggressive environments, low thermal conductivity and with all this  - ease of processing.

Milling, or milling plastic cutting –  modern and one of the most  practical options when plastic cutting is required.  It is carried out on a milling machine with numerical control (CNC), & nbsp; performed with a rotary cutter in a cold way. CNC plastic milling allows you to get products with smooth edges, make grooves, holes for fasteners, selections, grooves, curly chamfers strictly in accordance with the drawings.  CNC milling of plastic parts minimizes waste and speeds up the production cycle.

Cutting ABS plastic

ABS plastic (abs plastic) - impact-resistant rough resin,  is popular for the production of a wide range of goods for various purposes, and even building materials. 

Immune to shock loads, while being elastic, durable,   thermoplastic,  unpretentious care.

ABS plastic milling may be required in the manufacture of such products:

  • structural components and equipment housings, body parts, power tool parts, building components and sporting goods

CNC cutting abs plastic allows you to achieve high precision processing of the product without a large amount of waste. 


PVC cutting

Polyvinyl chloride or PVC plastic, is durable, resistant to aggressive environments and moisture,  and  light weight. 

Popular in the advertising, decoration and construction industries. Foamed PVC is used to make signs, signs (also in the form of figures), elements of exhibition equipment and advertising installations.  Rigid PVC more often  used in outdoor advertising and production of POS materials.

The surface of the PVC sheet is smooth, it is presented in a wide range of colors and allows you to implement a wide range of tasks at an affordable cost. Cutting PVC with a milling cutter has a number of advantages:

  • Despite its strength, PVC is very malleable. after cutting, even cuts remain, without nicks and chips;
  • there are no toxic emissions during the cold milling process, the ends retain  primary color.  Compared to laser cutting, when heated with a laser beam, toxic substances are released, and the pvc itself becomes brown. 
  • working with complex configurations is possible.

Polypropylene cutting

Polypropylene is a type of plastic that is not afraid of high temperatures and is more resistant to sunlight.  Durable and wear-resistant material, perfectly dyed and harmless to humans.

It is very widely used in areas such as:

  • light and food  industry
  • instrumentation
  • building
  • chemical production
  • manufacture of advertising and souvenirs, etc.

Hard and thermoplastic, polypropylene is used in various parts in the field of technology and electronics, stencils and templates, elements of outdoor and indoor decor,  promotional products. 

Cutting polypropylene with a router is used not only for cutting, but also for volumetric milling, when it is necessary to obtain products with grooves, holes or chamfers. CNC milling of polypropylene minimizes waste  in the manufacture  products for the most complex projects. 

Moreover, cutting this type of plastic sheet is safe even with laser processing, so in some cases it is advisable to use laser cutting of polypropylene.


Cutting polyethylene (PET)

pvh_5.jpgPolyethylene  - is thermoplastic  material that is resistant to moisture and chemicals, & nbsp; strong, durable, frost-resistant  and non-toxic. 

Due to this, it is widely used in the production of household products, instrumentation, agriculture, construction, production of containers, etc.

Cutting  sheet polyethylene on a CNC milling machine   allow cutting with high accuracy and speed strictly in accordance with the drawings. Milling of polyethylene ensures cutting accuracy, a smooth edge, and a reduction in waste and rejects.

Polyethylene is recyclable, pictured is a detail cut from recycled polyethylene sheet (low density). The cuttings and waste after milling were sent to the next recycling cycle - ideal recycling.  


Cutting kaprolon

kaprolon_frezerovka_2.jpgCaprolon is a relatively new material with high strength and performance properties. Caprolon is not subject to corrosion, chemically resistant, environmentally friendly, easily withstands high temperatures and does not require special UV protection. 

But a special property - it has a low coefficient of friction,  quickly run in pairs  with metals, which allows it to be used in the manufacture of friction parts, increasing their resource.

Caprolon is used for the manufacture of bearings, guides and liners of friction units, pulleys and rollers, seal parts, gears and the like in order to reduce noise, vibration and wear rate

Milling of sheet caprolon is carried out using CNC with high precision. The advantages of cutting caprolon in this way include:

  • high speed and automated process;
  • the ability to create complex shapes in an individual series;
  • cut  details strictly according to the drawings

Cutting fluoroplast: features  processing

Teflon sheet  used in the production of conveyor belts, gasket materials, seals. Due to the increased resistance to abrasion during prolonged friction, fluoroplastic discs, gaskets, liners, gears, wheels, washers, etc. are made. PTFE milling on a CNC machine

PTFE is excellent for milling, drilling, grinding and laser cutting. The preferred processing method is cold milling, as toxic substances are released during laser cutting.
For thin sheets of PTFE (1-3 mm thick), the use of a laser may be justified.

CNC milling of PTFE performs straight and curved cutting, grooving, 3D  relief, with obtaining details in strict accordance with the drawings.   The edges after milling remain smooth, even and do not require additional grinding.
